GG Scandinavian Crispbreads are a type of snack cracker from Norway. They are high in fibre, low glycemic and low in carbohydrates! The story behind these crispbreads began in Norway in 1935. Gunder Gunderson first created the recipe when he was faced with digestive health concerns and wanted a snack that would help him increase his daily fibre intake. He created the recipe for GG Scandinavian Crispbreads with a blend of bran, rye flour, salt, and fresh water from the springs of Norway. He then slow-baked the crispbreads for over 12 hours. The result was a deliciously hearty and high fibre crispbread with a nice crunch! The special 12-hour slow baking method is still used to make GG Scandinavian Crispbreads to this day because it maximizes the surface area of the fibre in the bran, which allows it to quickly absorb moisture once eaten. When fibre absorbs moisture, it adds bulk to our diet. This helps food pass through our digestive systems easily and can help you feel full for long periods of time.
