nuPasta – The Low Calorie Pasta
Why This Pasta Alternative Should Be a Staple in Your Pantry
A lot of Canadians struggle with weight management, gut issues, and sugar crashes because our meals have been filled with high glycemic carbohydrates (a.k.a., sugars and sugary foods), unhealthy fats, and processed foods. nuPasta is a low calorie, fibre-based pasta alternative developed to be fulfilling, satisfying, and great-tasting to help Canadians like you and me develop a sustainable healthy eating lifestyle that brings positive results.
Did you know that a single serving (about 200g) of cooked regular pasta meal contains up to 300 calories and just 2g of dietary fibre? Compare that to 200g of nuPasta which only has 25 calories, zero net carbs, and a whopping 6g of dietary fibre! Plus, it’s completely gluten-free, which means that you’ll feel fuller faster, for less carbs and calories.
The Magic is in the Ingredients
While regular pasta is made from wheat which is a carb-packed, high glycemic grain that drives up calories, nuPasta is made from the root of the konjac plant, also known as glucomannan. This natural ingredient rich in dietary fibre has been used as food and medicine in Asian cultures for many years. For example, Japanese cultures have more varieties of konjac foods (called konnyaku) than Western varieties of pasta. Konjac based pasta is less popular in Canada because it looks unfamiliar, and has a different texture to bite. nuPasta reformulated konjac to look and taste like pasta, so that you can easily access this almost magical ingredient for your daily meals.

nuPasta Deserves a Spot in Your Pantry
The star ingredient in nuPasta – konjac (glucomannan) – is not just a low-carb and low calorie wonder. This dietary fibre does not raise your glucose
This makes nuPasta a dream come true for those following the low carb lifestyle, or those who simply want to eat better to feel better. People following a strict regimen like the keto diet, or have health restrictions due to diabetes or gluten intolerance can enjoy nuPasta as a staple in their pantry.
And since nuPasta is versatile and neutral in flavour, it is the perfect canvas for any pasta sauce, protein, or vegetable combo you can imagine! And thankfully, nuPasta has been a tried and tested pasta alternative brand by The Low Carb Grocery customers all across Canada.

NuPasta spaghetti is an excellent noodle replacement. I use it all the time, even my kids love it. One trick to all the noodles is when taking it out the package put it under water and rinse it for a couple minutes. Then put it in a pan on the stove to heat, add your sauce, veggies, etc… I find it takes on the flavour of of the sauce and spices.

This product is great, especially if you’re not able to eat carbs. This is the closest to real pasta! I am of Italian background, so finding a pasta I would like was difficult – this is the closest to real pasta! They hardly have a scent. Just rinse them and use your favourite sauce on them. I tried all the konjac pasta on the market and this one wins! Practically no calories and you can enjoy your favourite sauces with it.

This product was delicious. The texture is just like noodles when cooked properly. It has a slight fishy odor when the package was first opened, but I had to hold it up to my nose to smell it. You need to rinse it well before cooking. Sauteing in a frying pan before mixing with my sauce and veggies removed the wateri-ness from the noodles, and made the texture mode noodle-like. Flavor wise, they take on the flavor of whatever you add to them for sauce and spices. I will definitely purchase them again as my new pasta replacement for Keto.

How to Prepare nuPasta
As with any other ingredient, following proper procedures to prepare this delicate pasta alternative is important to ensure you deliver delicious results. Thankfully, nuPasta comes precooked which makes preparation easy. You simply need to follow these steps:
- Rinse nuPasta in cold water to wash liquid preservative. Drain fully in a colander. It is recommended to leave the pasta in the colander for a few minutes to let excess water drain off.
- Quickly pan-fry the noodles to remove excess moisture, then add your choice of pasta sauce so that nuPasta can absorb your favourite flaovur.
- Serve!
1 packet of nuPasta is conveniently portioned for 1 regular serving. If you have any leftover in the packaging, keep it in a covered container and refrigerate as you would with any leftovers (3 to 4 days). Otherwise, unopened nuPasta is shelf stable at room temperature so you can store as many as you want and leave them in your cupboard until you need it!
Please do not freeze your nuPasta as this will damage the product, causing it to shrivel and lose its water content. Winter shipping may be a challenge for nuPasta and other konjac products, especially if you are located far away from our warehouse locations at Burnaby or Markham. So stock up on nuPasta before temperature drops to freezing.
Bring Pasta Nights Back
